Today, The Early Learning Centre (ELC) has renewed its contract for fulfilment of its direct business with distance shopping expert, Zendor. Under the new five year agreement, Zendor will deliver ELC’s customer orders for all direct channels including internet, phone and store home delivery services, using a new warehouse facility for storage, packaging and despatch of goods. In addition, Zendor will continue to provide call centre services for ELC, which will now incorporate first point of contact for all head office enquiries alongside direct orders and customer service calls.

ELC first outsourced its fulfilment to Zendor in 2001 after assessing all the options, including setting up an in-house operation. ELC decided to go with a specialist third party supplier to position itself for the expected growth in demand for an online proposition. ELC has subsequently experienced massive growth in online sales and the renewed agreement makes provision for further predicted increases over the period of the contract.

“Fulfilment is a specialist area and it’s unusual to find a partner who can genuinely offer an end-to-end service from point of order to delivery to customer,” said Sue Dorkin, Supply Chain Director, ELC. “The key to success is more than just operational efficiency to support growth, but investment of time to share knowledge and brand values to ensure the team are empowered to think and act the ELC way, as well as supported by the right infrastructure to deliver a seamless customer experience.”

ELC found the benefit of Zendor’s existing infrastructure and its commitment to future developments very attractive, together with its flexibility to handle the extreme peaks associated with ELC’s business, as well as its ability to work in partnership to deliver a high level of customer service. Zendor’s service has been invaluable and proven itself to be scalable to demand when required.

‘Zendor is thrilled to be able to continue the relationship with ELC, and we have developed a solution to exactly fit the company’s requirements,” said Nick Allen, Chief Executive, Zendor. “As experts in this field, we can pass on many benefits to our customers, such as economies of scale, flexibility and the ability to scale capacity to meet growth over time, which is particularly relevant to clients such as ELC. We look forward to working together and supporting them in new developments for the foreseeable future.”
